So, now this is in the shops - has anyone out there given it a shot? £30 is more than I can afford at the moment, and I wanna know if I should put it on me list for santa to bring.

I already own it but had to invest in a new graphics card last night do to the almost inexplicable thirst for power this game has.

Question: Why does a game that is too power hungry for a system, also play the opening logo videos really slowly too?
Answer: To rub salt into the wound.

I am also playing it with on old SWG player not affiliated with the second sun.

Lets rock!

regrettably not. Moving takes up quite some time, and I have barely even touched medieval2, hardly played BF2142. Buying ANOTHER game would be overkill

I got into playing this, I think the game is great, but I need some tips.

The camera settings are horrible, anyone got to work out a good camera setting? I hate to manually rotate the screen every time to put it behind the back of my char.

I know there is an option that turns with your char, but somehow it doesn't always work, basically the screen only turns when you push the A and D key and not when you click on the ground to go there.
Rake Tegler / SWG / Presumed dead.
Faelwen / MEO / Dead, sorry.
Fenix Rebirth / EVE / Alive
Sudene / AoC / Died pretty horribly.
Sudene / WAR / Missing

The game needs a serious overhaul. I havent gotten further than the starting village. Im at a place where i can fight in a contest. Theres a guy who is fighting and everytime he yells and shouts i get a drop in my framerates. And a few times every minute when i walk around, the screen jerks. Its completely unstable. And it really doesnt matter whether im going full throttle on the graphics or im turning everything off. My framerate stays between 20-30. Im not playing that game until it gets some serious patching :(

xp 2600+ (2.1ghz)
1.5Gb pc3200 (333mhz)
GF7600GT agp 256mb

I know its some old shite but the game ought to run smoother

if memory serves me right, holding the middle mouse button allows you to rotate the camera.

its been a while (these were NWN1 controls, I dont see them making the controls harder to use for its sequel.

thing is Velk.. We've advanced in the world of game controls. you cannot just use a system that was bad back then.

I dont remember having any problems with it, mind you - I was addicted to the game for quite some time, and it would have been second nature to me regardless of the system :D

got my hands on this game now courtesy of kat for christmas.

I must admit that what complaints i have read about it are true - buggy camera, poor performance/quality ratio - the game more than makes up for it in plotline and fun. Me and Armagite have been sat playing through this game, and many many times have we been rolling on the floor laughing. I have played this game twice. First time was a 9 hour stint, second was 8 hours. no other game in a long time has kept me gripped for so long :D

conclusion: If you like D+D dont mind a buggy game or dissapointing graphics, but want an interesting plot - its the game for you :)

Would be on playing now but i dont want to spend all day at the computer - and armagite would be pissed at missing some plot :D

They seriously blew up the rules, not much, but there are some very bad flaws in the stacking of effects department

Now I've played it and there's usually truth to be found between two extremes... Likewise here.

It was very buggish on launch and the system requirements are through the roof. I even had an issue where the game ate every resource available on my system but it sure didn't spend them on running the game any smoother or prettier, au contraire. I had to reinstall to fix this...

Pros: The campaign that ships with the game is good, the voice acting is superb, rules implementation okay...
Cons: System requirements and buggish/sluggish gameplay. Multiplayer is not very well supported.

Only buy it once the price drops considerably. Maybe the bugs will have been weeded out by then, or your computer will have caught up to the system reqs!
