It makes sense to: 1) Revert to the old php-fusion index page, so every admin can adjust it. (you can go there now, if you go to this link: http://www.thesecondsun.org/news.php )
2) Create a seperate Guild forum category for this game. bring down WAR to a subcategory.
3) Keep hyping on about it With no interest at all in being a leader this time around, I can still gather the flock when the time of beta comes. I reckon that, at this point, inbetween 20 and 30 old friends will join if we ask them to. on top of that number, don't forget that we have a thriving vanguard community as well, I'm sure they will be keen on discovering this game. Even though it's still far away, I expect the TSS guild in TOR to be huge from the start. given a bit of effort

well the old fusion is there yeah, though it is significantly not updated belive its still in 6.00.xx series but that can be fixed, many will have forgoten old passwords to it, though it can be used in 2 ways, there is still the lack of a bridge-app to combine php-fusion account and phpbb-accounts this would still not possible if not someone managed to crack it yet, I'll make some research into this once more.
abput the ways of using it: 1. Admins accounts only, rest is public, this would make the fusion a base for panels and such adjusted by the administration only, this would exlude the shoutbox feature, not that it would make much use but still.
2. Regular accounts as before, shoutbox, picture gallery upload, suggest links and such once more activated ...
you all pretty much know the rest, its like it was before, hopefully a fresher theme can be found after i update the fusion to latest version (this has never failed once so pretty sure it wont do so now)

Hi again folks. Been a while since i posted, but with TOR around the corner (which just happens to be at the end of a road far, far away.....) i'll be back Since alot of you won't know me, apologies, but you're in risk of seeing me about the place a bit more I've not read all the posts, so I may go over points already dealt with, so apologies. i'll just concentrate with answering the queries in the original post I've not decided on a 'faction' as yet, but given the possibility of going down a 'grey' path, would like to hope that a guild can have anyone in it, regardless of disposition. However, they like to pidgeon hole folks in these games, so either way is fine with me. Guild resources / hall, etc. all game for it, especially if they introduce something akin to guild Capital ships RP: never been big on RP, beyond the acknowledgment that all games are RP, but with SWTOR, it's something i'm happy to consider. Regarding leadership etc. I'm happy to use whichever system it's deemed. If things aren't working, it'll be changed anyway if it's decided it's needed. Also, although i don't usually PvP, even I won't be able to resisit the urge to walk up to someone and saber them in the face Let's hope they release the game quick

Ello's! Thought I'd say something in here as I am interested in attempting my first Sci-fi mmo. To be honest, from my time in WAR and general reading of forums and...the odd reminiscent moment from the 'old people' ;P ... it seems that however you decide to run the guild it will work. But one leader and his officers does tend to work best. Especially when things start getting big. Factions - Meh, tell me if I'm naughty or nice and I'm happy to play either or a delightful mix of both Rp - Well, I am an rp nut..but I'm not going to tell everyone they should rp. Though you should try, you might like it So perhaps a guild that supports rp, but doesn't insist on it? Guild resources and things - Well it's always a fun thing, and there's always some that give everything and some that give nothing. It's also alot of work to maintain...but if someones willing to do so and everyones encouraged it's a really good thing.

Really looking forward to gaming again with some familiar faces (or names at least!) as well as meeting all the new folks that we get on board once we're on game. Not to mention the current Second Sunners who I'll be meeting in the virtual 3d flesh for the first time. Good times I am trying to reign in my hype horses after the disaster that WAR turned out to be (for me). But it is Star Wars, and it is Bioware so I'll sure be giving it a fair crack of the whip. Just like most MMOs these days I'm fairly certain you'll have to choose an exclusive faction per server so unless we do some mad split-faction two-server job then we're going to have to pick a side to stick to. I'm leaning towards Sith personally... Mmmm, red lightsabers... Of course, 2011 is a long way away so no rush to decide anything.

It's not required for them to have a 1 faction per server system, even if alot of MMO's use it.
WoW use's the fairly decent system, allowing 10 characters per server, and those can be of which ever faction you choose.
The system I'd like to see them use, would be one more akin to EVE, in a sense.
If the server has no 'sides', but instead everyone logs into a server on the same basis, then that would allow guilds to form with players or any affiliation, allowing for any guild to have good, or bad class players/characters.
The Order of the Jedi may not wish to be considered in a bad way, but within the lore, it's quite common, sometimes even requried, for indivdual Jedi, whilst on missions, to call the services of those for whom the law is a odd and rarified concept.
Would be a shame for that aspect of Star Wars to be obscured, given that it has so much potential for gaming and mission options, as well as the lore and RP aspects, of the game.
Also, by having all players using the same 'side' of the server, instead of being split into different side, depending on your factions, it gives room for players to fall, and likewise be redeemed, or to help others do the same, which is a concept that runs quite deep through Star Wars lore, and such events mark the beginning, and the end, of some of the most memorable events in the Star Wars universe.

Rake Tegler checking in here I'm just popping up to say that I will definitely play SWTOR from day one, and I'm definitely game for joining up with TSS especially if more of the 'old guys' will have a go at this as well.

Sweet. I'll be there on launch day as well. Hopefully I'll still be there three months after launchday too but it's been a while since an MMO held me for that long! :-O

Brilliant! i'm not counting on a sugar rush, the way SWG and WoW engulfed me when I first played them. But the chances bioware will release sumething that's utter crap are very small I reckon. At least it'll be fun to get the guild back together again for a while
